Kaiser Aluminum Raises Flat-Rolled Pdt Prices By 5%

HOUSTON (Dow Jones)--Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp., a unit of Kaiser Aluminum Corp. (KLU, news, msgs) is raising its prices by 5% on 2000/7000-series plate products. 

In a press release Tuesday, Kaiser said the price change is effective with all new orders placed on or after Tuesday and for all shipments July 2 and after, regardless of order entry date. 

The increase won't apply to transactions covered by existing contract price agreements. 

Excluding items, Kaiser earned about $3 million, or 4 cents per share, in 2000, on sales of $2.17 billion. 

Kaiser Aluminum makes alumina, primary aluminum and fabricated aluminum products.
