An on-site investigation began on July 10, 1999 after it was determined to be safe for travel in portions of the plant where the sodium hydroxide had been removed. Each plant area will be examined by the investigative team. This will be an ongoing process as areas become safe to travel. Accompanying the MSHA investigation team are representatives for the company, United Steel Workers of America, replacement workers, and a concerned citizens group. |
